ABOUT ME
Italian-born abstract artist Valeria Gagliardi Degiovanni, based in Montreal, creates vibrant, tactile paintings that celebrate life through color and emotion. Working intuitively with mixed media and resin, she transforms shadow and light into compositions that uplift, inspire, and connect.
Her work invites quiet reflection and a rediscovery of connection—with beauty, with feeling, and with one another. Valeria’s art has been recognized with the Outstanding Art Award (Light Space & Time, 2021) and the Judges’ Choice Award (AIM Fall Exhibit, 2025).
In 2025, Valeria joined the Board of Artists in Montreal (AIM) as Media Support and member of the Art Show Committee.
ARTIST STATEMENT & VISION
Valeria Gagliardi Degiovanni’s compositions celebrate life through color and emotion.
Her work transforms color into a universal language — one that uplifts, inspires, and connects.
Working with mixed media and resin, Valeria builds textured, layered surfaces that capture the interplay of shadow and light.
This contrast reflects the rhythm of life itself — moments of warmth and brightness emerging from stillness and depth.
Her palette is intuitive and symbolic: each color carries emotion and memory, from the vitality of red to the calm of blue.
In a fast-paced, digital era, Valeria sees painting as a way to slow down and rediscover connection — with beauty, with feeling, and with one another.
Her works invite quiet reflection and celebrate the imperfect harmony that defines the human experience..
